Hoe is't in het Mu-zee-um???

Life is beautiful in my nice Oostende! My dearest collagues were really complaining about me not writing anything about Mu-zee-um for a long time – always just about Brugge, Amsterdam, partying… So here are some things going on in the best Belgian project J

In the second week of April we had Erfgoed week – woord verwacht… badge workshops with Liz, who does her stage now. It was quite busy but I like when there’s everytime something to do. On Friday there was a really small class of just four guys who tried to teach me Oostende dialect - some dirty stuff which they said means Goededag – c’mon kids… After the „ik zie je graag”- joke… nem most jöttem a falvédőről!

We also started the selection of the next EVSer – they want to get rid of me as soon as possible L blöhöhöhöhö! – joking, heee! We chose 7 WOW! CVs – and I had the nice task of sending them the tricky questions after which we can make the final decision. (I’m trying to be objective, OK?! They think that I’m promoting Rita, my Hungarian friend – I just make recommendations – she’s a really nice and creative girl. :) Doing this is really nice since actually I’m the best person to ask about the EVS-life here, I also feel that I’m a part of the team here and last but not least I feel extremely lucky about being here. I don’t want it to come to an end!! It’s so wonderful, especially when the sun is shining – amazing how strong influence weather has on people’s mood. I just have to get some vitaminD and everything is perfect!

I’m also working on this Grundtvig stuff – we already have 3 partners: a Slovenian, a Portuguese and a Hungarian one. OK, we need a few more, but that’s something, rigth? It’s not easy but a really good experience for me – miss project coordinator, hehe.

But if you ever come to Mu-zee-um you have to be zeer voorzichtig! Because if you don’t pay attention you can easly find yourself on the ground by an enormous hit of some of my dear collagues. Becase we have a very nice game: when someone burps loudly (and they are verrry good at it, believe me!) you have to put your hand (your thumb and little finger streched out) to your forehead really qucikly – if you are not fast or focused enough the others can hit you. It is fun in lunchbreak – especially when Ewout drinks a lot of coke J But sometimes I just work on the computer or doing some stuff in the atelier, really concentrating. And suddenly I feel a biiig hit on my head – oooouch! Then I look up and see everyone with their hands on their forehead lughing – heheheh! Sometimes we try to sneek around behind the others’ back but now everyone gets faster and faster. When we stand on the street it’s fun to imagine how would people look at us if we would just start hitting them. Hm, maybe they wouldn’t be very happy…

About the language: Ann said I’ve started to speek West-vlaamse – dat’s veel beter, heee? Filmtje, brieftje, schoon en this kind of things – actually I think it’s funny. It means that I’m really getting into the local stuff.
